Marie-José Williams was born in Saint-Pierre
et Miquelon. At the age of two, she moved to Québec. She came to
Newfoundland in 1975 and now lives in Conception Bay South with her two
children. She works as a teacher and has been painting for the past
ten years. She has studied with several artists and most recently with
watercolor international master Sterling Edwards. She is a member of the
Art Association of Newfoundland and Labrador and paints with a group
called the “Visual Vagabonds”. She has worked in watercolour,
graphite, pen and ink and acrylic. She has done illustrations for the
newspaper “ l’Echo des Caps” as well as children’s books. “The
Little Fisherman” is a series of paintings done in bright acrylic
colours and depicts different scenes of St John’s and rural Newfoundland
in a fun and whimsical way. It will bring a touch of humor and brightness
to your home.
