William Hayes Richardson was
born in 1962 to parents Earl and Noreen. His Father, born in
Michigan was part of the friendly invasion and stationed here in
Newfoundland in 1947. His Mother, born in Topsail to parents; William and
Violet Hibbs. Bill was raised there on a small farm owned by the
same and still resides there today. Being of Cherokee heritage due
to his Great Grandmother on his Dad’s side, Bill draws inspiration from
the natural world and where best to find that than here on the rock.
Always having a flare for art and music he is self-taught and began his
career as a portrait artist in graphite which spans the last 27 years.
During this time he gained considerable talent for detail. Painting in
acrylics and oils just seemed the natural progression and presently has
included carving to the mix. His works hang in homes internationally under
his pen name Hayes.
